BIO

Nancy has always been a creative person. As a child, she would fill up sketchbook after sketchbook, drawing anything and everything. In high school, she would write songs and poems (usually in math class). In college, her interests broadened to graphic design, woodworking, photography, and product design. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Industrial Design.
Post college, Nancy's restless creative spirit led her back to photography. She took a job in a camera store and explored her photographic craft in her spare time.
Continuing on her journey, Nancy then dove headfirst into something she'd always wanted to try - acting. She pursued classes for a few years at the Second City Training Center in Chicago, learning under future stars, Nia Vardalos and Stephen Colbert.
It was during this time that Nancy snagged her one big movie role. Well, maybe it was a much, much smaller role. She was cast as one of many extras in the movie, Groundhog Day. If you watch it frame-by-frame, you might just catch a glimpse of her. Nancy admits she may not have been the best actress, but at least in her classes she did get to hone her writing skills, which is what she loved more anyways.
It was also at this time that she would meet a fellow Second City student and future husband, Dave. Nancy would spend the next chapter of her life as wife, working-mother, dog wrangler, chauffeur, and home school teacher to their two boys. She still, nonetheless, continued to write more poems and short stories in her spare time.
Finally, Nancy's lifelong writing ambition has come to fruition. The Stone Maker is Nancy's first published children's book. God willing, it's the first of many!
